Classes for Children Under 4

Siblings:
Siblings receive 10% class/lesson tuition discount

CLASS:
Please try to be one time.  Being present during the "greeting" song affirms your child as a person; you won't want to miss that opportunity.

Dress for “moving and dancing!”

Outdoor classes - please bring a blanket for your family, family pods distanced 3-6 ft apart.  Adults required to wear masks because we will have some singing.

Food, toys or other "distractions" often cause problems rather than provide comfort when brought into music class. Since another child might want your child’s drink or stuffed animal, it is often easier to leave those things at home or in the car.

Purchase Family Materials which come with an instrument pack.  Special instruments like drums or other percussion instruments will be supplied for one time use and returned to an instrument tub for cleaning.

WEATHER:
If public school is closed due to bad weather, we will also be closed. Every attempt will be made to make up missed classes.  If public school is operating on a delayed schedule, we will be open and classes will run on their regular schedule.

OBSERVATIONS:
Understand that all children learn at different rates and in different ways.  Some children will be quiet in class, others will be active.  Some children will do everything perfectly at home, but not in class.  As a parent, you know that every child is unique, so check your comparisons at the door and let the music work it's magic!

Private, Partner & Group Pre-Piano and Piano:

Siblings in piano lessons, private or group, receive 10% tuition credit for 2nd child, and 15% for 3rd child.

CANCELATIONS, MISSED LESSONS, WEATHER:

There is not a reimbursement for missed lessons.  If you know that you will be gone, please try to make arrangements to trade lesson times with a fellow student.  Contact me for names & numbers.  Lesson make-ups will be scheduled only for school cancellation days due to weather or if I need to cancel for any reason.  If the Verona School District has weather cancellation, piano lessons will be canceled also. If there is a delay of school, lessons will follow the regular schedule.  I understand that sport schedules cause changes throughout the year.  We'll need to make adjustments as needed.

COMMITMENTS & PRACTICE ROUTINE:
Participating in regularly scheduled lessons is a commitment for both the student and the teacher.  As a teacher, I am committed to being prepared for each lesson with varied and developmentally appropriate materials and teaching techniques.  I strive to follow the interest of the child and bring enthusiasm to each lesson.  Each student must make a commitment too!  To come to lessons with a willingness to learn and try new things, and to be prepared with adequate practice for their lesson.  Regular practice is essential.  Becoming a competent pianist/vocalist will not happen without the hard work.  Beginner students may practice 10 minutes a day, and find that is enough, if it is truly every day!  As the number of songs, length, and difficulty increase, it is recommended that the student strive for 20-30 minutes of practice daily.

NON-REFUNDABLE $50 ONLINE REGISTRATION SUBMISSION
By registering online, you are enrolling your child for a full program.  Some classes are sessions or semesters.  Piano lessons are full school year.  Each time you register your child, a full payment is required for the session.  For piano, payments can be made monthly, by semester or by the full lesson year. If you do not continue, regardless of the reason, $50 registration fee is non-refundable to cover administrative costs. Partial refunds or credit are given ONLY in unusual circumstances (moving out of the area or prolonged illness), or if the class is canceled.

For Piano Lessons, a one month notice is needed to discontinue lessons.

Thank you.
